Hungry Polar Bear Hunts Cameraman

Two very different kinds of bear encounters! One is a hungry polar bear who tries to break into a glass case that protects the cameraman. The other (below) is a not-so-hungry brown bear who plops down beside a cameraman. Takes a little rest break then saunters off, but not before a brief moment of terror! Both videos are riveting!

That bear looks hungry! If the Perspex box — dubbed the “ice cube” — wasn’t so well constructed, you can just tell that this guy would not make it back home. He would be dinner! Frig! He must have been so scared inside that box just wondering “what if it doesn’t hold up?” OMG! My nerves are shattered! I need something nicer to calm me down. First some frightening photos of this encounter — then a more polite brown bear to settle us down…

Here’s another video that is quite the opposite.

A cameraman is posted at the edge of a river, filming brown bears in pursuit of salmon. He is unprotected (no glass case or anything like that) when a massive brown bear strolls up along side him. The bear must be full because he’s disinterested in the guy… even sitting down for a rest just a few feet away from the cameraman. All is cool until the bear goes to leave. As he saunters behind the cameraman – and outside his peripheral view – you can hear the cameraman become quite anxious, saying “hey hey hey hey hey!”
